Bursa Malaysia Weekly Summary

KLCI Weekly Chart

KLCI is still being supported. The technicals are still no good. This means at any moment, there will be a sudden sell down. I'm wondering, is the market being propped up just to keep the voters happy as what is happening in the US now.

Pricking the bubble

SSECI Daily Chart

From bull to bear. My previous analysis of China stocks have been invalidated as SSECI has broken to the downside! Dangerous journey ahead.

Back to the Futures

I thought I have enough knowledge to go into combat. I was young and foolish. I was easily influenced by the "guru" broker. "Trading was easy," says him. I got in with confidence. Unfortunately, I was badly injured. The sweet talk was far from the truth. It was a cruel battleground. You are fighting against the guru, master and Jedi that are far better than you. My last battle was Dec 2005.

Since then, I have gone back to training, built up my knowledge. Learned to be humble. Learned what have I done wrongly. Learned how to prepare myself mentally.

Now, I know on how to trade stocks. I also know on how to trade warrants/options. Last Friday, I am back into the futures. It took 4 years and 4 months for me to regain my courage to go back into battle. It took so long because I find it very hard to heal oneself when you have a mental scar. This time, I know that it will turn out better than last time.

World Weekly Summary

This Goldman Sachs thingy sure rattles a lot of people. We need to remind ourself that the market is already overbought based on daily chart. So, a sell off does not surprise me. Anyway, in any matters where money comes into question, definitely there are element of cheating/fraud/manipulation. This has existed since two parties made the first trade. That is why we need to learn history. History teaches us how fraud are committed and how to detect them. As a trader, I will play alone as long as the music is on, and try to get out before I get myself hurt. Is this the end of the bull rally? There are evidence of bearish divergence, but it is still not strong enough to indicate the resumption of the bear.

Bubble Watch

SSECI Weekly Chart

Watch out the Shanghai market. If the government is cracking down on speculative investment in property, then the money must flow to another asset type as everyone is trying to make money. If the triangle pattern is broken to the upside, expect Hong Kong to follow.

By theory, Genm has broken its downtrend. The sky is the limit now. However, it is just not moving up. I have gotten in and gotten out with a loss. Still waiting, waiting for that moment. Keep an eye!

Monday Read: The Magnetar Trade

This is a very fascinating story about how Magnetar made money by encouraging bankers to create CDOs that they bet against.

World Weekly Summary

So, when will the market make a U-turn? Overbought markets get a correction and then becomes overbought again and again and yet again. No euphoric buy volume. So, I guess that the uptrend will continue. I'm just wondering who is pushing up the market?

Bursa Malaysia Warrant Calculator Version 3

I have done some improvement to my Bursa Malaysia Warrant Calculator. The main view of Version 3 is shown above. Version 3 now contains warrants that are listed in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong! Malaysia's warrants are updated as soon as they are announced in Bursa Malaysia website. For Singapore warrants, as I cannot find the announcement in SGX website, I only update it once every 2 months. For Hong Kong warrants, I can only update it once every 3 months as there are just too many of them.

Anyhow, Version 3 allows you to choose which exchange that a particular warrant is traded in to be displayed. In addition to that, you can now choose to show call warrants, put warrants or both. Therefore, in a bull market, you can select to view only call warrants while in a bear market, you can choose to view only put warrants. This is the improvements that I have done to Version 3. The Bursa Malaysia Warrant Calculator has helped me a lot in my trading decision. Why not try it for 1 year? For a price that is around a normal brokerage commission, I believe that it is really very affordable as compared to the money that you may have loss through wrong warrant selection :p.

If you don't have a Paypal account, then email me for Maybank transfer account.

Anyhow, you can test my sample (which is almost a complete version). Email me at swifz@yahoo.co.uk for suggestions or comments.

Bursa Malaysia Weekly Summary

KLCI Weekly Chart

KLCI: Next horizontal resistance is at 1390!

Construction Index Weekly Chart

Construction: Looks like it has broken out of the horizontal resistance. Can it close above 250?

Finance Index Weekly Chart

Finance: Can you believe that the index is now higher than before the subprime crisis?!

Property Index Weekly Chart

Property: Looks like a clear breakout. Do you have any property counter in your portfolio?

The market continues to go higher. No sign of euphoria. If crude oil continues higher towards 100, expect the play on oil and gas going into manic level. Most of the O&G counters are making a move now: waseong, dialog, kencana etc. Do you have any in your portfolio?
